Cavity Free Kids Curriculum

This unique curriculum is designed to help programs teach children about oral health by adding activities to your current lesson plans.

Cavity Free Kids Curriculum. The evidenced-based program is designed to bring a comprehensive curriculum designed around dental care and oral health care to Head Start child care preschool home visiting and other early learning programs in Cayuga and Onondaga counties. The Health Foundation launched the program in 2010 and works with organizations throughout western and central New York to help young children in both regions develop lifelong dental health habits and better oral health. The curriculum was piloted by one of our partners Enterprise for Progress in the Community EPIC Head Start Migrant Head.

Our primary goal is to prevent oral disease. Cavity Free Kids is a train-the-trainer oral health curriculum that provides education about cavities what causes the disease and how it can be prevented. The curriculum was developed for child care directors and staff who work closely with parents and children.
